The “Jackass” crew comes in circus costumes performing dangerous actions, from trying impossible sports challenges to poking very aggressive animals. While you’re in your comfortable room equipped to watch online movies you can almost feel the pain that these imprudent stunts are experiencing.
In 1999, Johnny Knoxville, engaged in a self-defense training program, wanted to test the techniques on himself. He proposed the idea to the skateboard magazine “Big Brother Magazine”, filmed himself and quickly became a phenomenon. From that day he started a long successful tour, made three series on MTV that inspired several others, three movies, a documentary and a 24-hour special. Political pressure moved the first MTV broadcast in the late evening, then erased. The stop on MTV, however, has not stopped the spread of the Jackass mania. The last movie is co-produced by Spike Jonze and had a budget of 20 million dollars but in the first weekend of release made 50 million in the U.S.
